About Ruffles.net
Ruffles.net is an independent reference site built for people who take potato chip flavors more seriously than is probably reasonable. We track every current Ruffles flavor we can verify from official sources, keep a cited archive of discontinued and limited-edition flavors, collect real recipes built around Ruffles chips, and run community-driven rankings based on genuine ratings and head-to-head votes — not editorial guesses dressed up as popularity.
What we do
- Flavor database. Every product page is built from verifiable information — official product pages, manufacturer nutrition portals, and (for historical products) press releases, news coverage, and product/UPC databases. See Sources for details.
- Recipes & dips. Factual recipe details (ingredients, timing, servings) are drawn from official sources where available; narrative instructions on Ruffles.net are written in our own words. A handful of recipes are original Ruffles.net creations, always labeled as such.
- Rankings. Built entirely from real visitor ratings (1–10) and head-to-head battle votes, weighted using a Bayesian/Wilson-score approach so a single vote can't outrank hundreds of genuine ones. Full details on the methodology page.
What we don't do
- We don't invent nutrition facts, ingredients, or historical dates. If we can't verify it, the field is left blank rather than guessed.
- We don't seed fake ratings, votes, or review counts. A flavor with no votes yet says "Not rated yet."
- We don't claim any affiliation with PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, or the Ruffles brand — see our trademark disclaimer.
